The first half dozen books in this series were so great - Howie and Dave...Wow, classic. Clarence, Blowers and Cookie...bloody and funny. Some really great writing.But then more and more characters are added. Too many uninteresting and irritating characters. The jokes became stale...forced. I actually started hoping some characters would be killed off. No such luck.I understand the economics - stretch it out...milk it. But when you drag it out for too long...it gets old and stale.Then the author throws in the diary format - what is with that? A confusing, uninteresting mess. I mean, Howie and Dave aren't even central characters any more?I started skim and by the end...well, I've had my fill. I simply don't care anymore. There are much better books to spend my time and money on, which is tragic in and of itself.I'll go back and read those first books again but I have no interest in reading further in this series.
